West Cornwall Pasty Co are delighted to announce they will be working with Jack Nowell, England Rugby Player for the next 3 years. Cornishman Jack has come on board as the WCPCo high profile brand ambassador.
Jack Nowell is proving himself as one of the stand out players in the current England Rugby Team; his electric fast style of play make him hard to miss.
Jack is a product of the excellent academy system and has broken onto the domestic and international stage with a storm. With rich accolades, Jack was rewarded for his contribution in helping England U20 lift the Junior World Championship in France as the LV breakthrough player of the year for 2012-13. Carrying on from his early international success Jack has gone onto to earn himself 18 international caps, scoring 9 international tries on the way and played a pivotal role in England’s 2016 Grand Slam victory.
His on-field attacking style of play is a contrast to his laid-back and relaxed character off the pitch; however, his work ethic remains a constant. Despite being in his early 20's, Jack is mature for his age and this is reflected in the composure he shows whilst playing. Jack’s tattoos (and hair) are another unique feature and are very much a part of who he is, each one representative of his family heritage and Cornish culture.
We are really excited to have Jack as our brand ambassador for WCPCo. So much so, we have created a special pasty for him. The Jack's Pasty is a delicious `Peppered Steak Pasty' best eaten at any time of the day and night and is guaranteed satisfaction!
Jack took some time out of his busy training schedule to spend a day 'On the Beach' with us. To record the day in fine form we have created a short film about Jack, his connection with Cornwall and his love of pasties and of course Rugby. The film also shows Jack tasting the Jack's Pasty for the first time!
Jack's main ambassadorial role with WCPCo is with the RFU All Schools Programme. Alongside WCPCo he will be supporting 'Grass Roots Rugby' over the next 3 years.
We are supporting the following schools.
Richmond Park Academy, linked to Barnes RFC
Churchmead, linked to Windsor RFC
New Forest Academy, linked to Fawley RFC
St Joseph's, linked to Spermarine & Swindon RFC
Jack will be visiting these schools and will be hosting a training session to inspire and motivate young people to pursue their dreams and work hard at sport. He is an active role model and it is something that he is passionate about.
Jack has recently visited St Joseph's School in Swindon, who are 3 months into their first season of rugby with the All Schools Programme. Hosting a Q&A with a group of pupils from year 7, 8 and 9 Jack was grilled on training, injuries, what it was like to score a try for England and of course his tattoos! Jack then went on to lead a coaching session with the pupils.
From 2012 rugby is being taken into 750 state secondary schools with the aim of making school life happier and healthier, reducing anti-social behaviour, enhancing learning and increasing self-esteem for students.
The RFU CBRE All Schools programme aims to create a positive legacy for 1 million children through rugby and its core values.
